Sheep’s Sorrel Seeds rumex acetosella – grows on dry grassland, heaths and open ground. In the wild, Sheep’s Sorrel attracts the Small Copper as a breeding butterfly that will lay its eggs on the plant. It is similar to Common Sorrel but slightly smaller and produces reddish flowers from May to August. Sheep’s Sorrel looks best growing with wildflowers such as Oxeye daisies, Field Scabious, Betony, Sneezewort and Tufted vetch.
