Maiden Pink Seeds dianthus deltoides – is an exceptionally pretty and under-used wildflower. It is perfect for growing on gravel paths or within rock gardens where the attractive foliage will provide decorative ground cover and a mat of pink flowers in summer. In the wild, Maiden Pink grows best on poor soils within open grassland, and on dry sandy banks. Flowers appear from June to September and host a wide range of insect life. Maiden Pink looks best alongside other low-growing wild flowers such as Wild Pansy, Meadow Saxifrage, Common Centaury, and Sheep’s bit scabious.
