Perfect for pollinators

Marsh Marigold -caltha palustris- flowers in March and April when it can be found growing in damp woodland, water meadows, stream sides and marshes. In gardens, it can be grown around a pond edge or in a bog garden and will tolerate sun or shade. Although a wetland plant, Marsh Marigolds will also tolerate dry conditions quite well, and can be useful for soils that do not retain water the whole year round. Marsh Marigold produce a spectacular display of bright yellow flowers in spring and. look best growing with other spring flowering wetland plants such as Snake`s head fritillaries, Ragged Robin and Cuckooflower. Alternative names for Marsh Marigolds include `Kingcups` Mayflower, mollyblobs, Water-bubbles, and May-blobs

How to grow Marsh Marigold seeds
Marsh Marigold seeds should be sown in trays of compost in autumn. The trays should be left outside in a cold frame or covered with glass, and kept moist. After germinating, the seedlings can be pricked out and grown on, for planting out later in the year. Once established, Marsh Marigold plants can be divided up following flowering.

RHS Perfect for Pollinators.
The RHS Perfect for Pollinators mark is only given to plants that support pollinating insects in gardens. Bees, butterflies, moths, hoverflies and many others visit flowers to feed on nectar and pollen; while doing so they transfer pollen and increase seed set and fruit development.
