Marsh Cinquefoil-potentilla palustris – grows in very wet boggy ground often on peaty soils such as in swampy fens, mires and other waterlogged ground. Here plants provide a valuable source of nectar for insects. Marsh Cinquefoil is a low growing species with dark red, star-like flowers that appear from June and July. Plants looks best growing with other wetland wildflowers such as Ragged Robin.

How to grow Marsh Cinquefoil Seeds
Marsh Cinquefoil seeds should be sown in autumn, in seed trays and covered lightly with compost. Trays should be left outside over winter in a cold frame or covered in a sheet of grass and the compost should be kept moist.
