Hare’s-foot Clover -trifolium arvense– grows best in light, well-drained soil where there is plenty of sunlight. It can be introduced into gardens in gravelled areas where it will attract isects such as butterflies. Hare’s-foot Clover is a low growing species with soft downy flowers that appear from July to September. Hare’s foot Clover looks best alongside other low growing wildflowers that bloom in mid-summer such as Selfheal, Rock rose, Red Clover and Sheeps bit scabious.

How to grow Hare’s-foot Clover Seeds
Hare’s-foot Clover seeds should be sown in spring or autumn, outside, where they are to flower. Germination can be improved by lightly rubbing the seeds between 2 sheets of sandpaper. This is known as scarification and helps break down the tough outer shell of Hare’s-foot Clover seeds.
